SCHOLARSHIPS For those Year 13 students planning on going to University and that includes Unitec and AUT, it is time to start putting your mind to how you are going to fund your studies. The scholarships are starting to filter into the Career Office and it may pay to keep checking this site as well as reading/listening to the school notices on a daily basis and just popping in to the careers office to just touch base with Ms Couch. Todate the following have come in: Mike Pero Mortgages have 3 scholarships available - two worth $5,000 and one worth $2,500. To apply for these scholarships (for ages 17 to 25 yrs and for any person who is going to do a recognised programme of full time study at a NZ tertiary institution) go to www.mikepero.co.nz and use the key word "scholarship" to find the Mike Pero Foundation Scholarship online application form. Fill this out outline and submit with the necessary supporting documentation. If you want to know more, ring 0800 500 123. This is for first time tertiary students. (Which in English means, for those of you leaving school and going on to do extra study. AND Year 13 students intending on going to Massey University. Massey is offering High Achiever scholarships with particular focus on high achievement in either academic, sport or arts or a combination thereof for new degree entrants enrolling at Massey next year. Scholarship Application forms for the College of Camille to do a 12 month Diploma in Beauty Therapy. Valid for any intake in 2011. If you are thinking of studying at the College of Camille next year, please pick up an application form from Ms Couch in the Careers office. (Last year we had two students win scholarships and they are both loving their studies). Applications close 19/11/10. Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship Programme - Waikato University. This scholarship is for students who are academic, sporting, artistic (music, drama, art) or in leadership pursuits. Full fees are paid for the duration of your study in any degree programme - as well as having coaching and tutor support. Two scholarships are on offer for students enrolling into either the Diploma of Hospitality Management and one for the Diploma of Adventure Tourism Management. Students must be completing Year 13 studies. The scholarship covers full tuition fees for the duration of the studies. Initially a group of semi-finalists are chosen based on the written application. The semi finalists will be required to fly to Queenstown for an interview at their own expense. The two scholarship winners will be selected from this group. Massey Engineering – Coffee, Cake and Careers We would like to invite Year 12, and 13 students, and their parents, to an interactive presentation on courses available at the School of Engineering and Advanced Technology at Massey University. Academic staff and students from Massey Engineering will be available to answer specific questions on Engineering and Food Technology; and there will be the opportunity for students and their parents to have one on one discussion on their options to study at Massey Engineering. If you are wanting to work in the Community for the benefit of others, why not join the Young Leo's club at school. See Ms Couch if you are interested. We have some great members and you will meet lots of other people at the same time. Remember it is not necessarily what you know, but who you know. We never know when we are going to make a contact that could change our lives forever.
Academy NZ - North Shore has two Youth Guarantee positions (scholarships) for this term - that is Term 3.
