If a student misses an external assessment for a reason outside theirr control they can ask for a compassionate consideration. They can qualify for this if:
- They have been, or are, ill providing they have a doctor's certificate.
- There are special circumstances that have prevented them from getting to the examination or making the submission. These circumstances will have to be unusual and accompanied by a written request from parents.
Compassionate consideration means that the school will be asked for an opinion on:
- Whether the student has passed or would have passed and
- What grade would be expected.
The school does this based on the quality of the student's school work and on results in schools tests and examinations.
To get a Compassionate Consideration contactthe Deputy Principal.
It is very important that contact is made with the school as soon as possible if an external assessment is missed.
