ENGLISH 102
English 102 is a course in which students will be assessed on their production and writing skills and knowledge and understanding of texts. It consists entirely of Unit Standards and Achievement Standards and is a mix of practical and theoretical work.
19 credits are internally assessed and a further 2 credits will assess students’ understanding of the curriculum through external exams.
The internal assessments will require students to produce creative writing, read and view a range of texts (written and visual) and record their responses, research and present information, deliver an oral presentation, explore and think critically about transactional written text and produce a media or dramatic presentation.
Each internally assessed standard is assessed at its completion.
The external assessments will require students to respond to questions on short texts.
Each externally assessed standard is assessed formatively through tests and school examinations.
