
ENGLISH 202
English 202 is a course in which students will be assessed on their production and writing skills and knowledge and understanding of texts.
It consists of Achievement Standards and is a mix of practical and theoretical work.
16 credits are internally assessed and a further 3 credits will assess students’ understanding of the curriculum through external exams.
The internal assessments will require students to produce an extended piece of creative writing, read transactional written text closely, investigate a language or literature topic and present information in written form, produce transactional writing and deliver a presentation.
Each internally assessed standard is assessed at its completion.
The external assessment will require students to respond to questions on visual texts.
The externally assessed standard is assessed formatively through tests and school examinations.
English is studied for four hours per week.
