
Japanese 101
Japanese 101 is a course in which students will be assessed on their listening, reading, writing and speaking skills.
It consists entirely of Achievement Standards.
9 credits are internally assessed and a further 15 credits will assess students’ understanding of the curriculum through external examinations.
The internal assessments will require students to give a prepared talk, converse in Japanese and write crafted text.
The external assessments will require students to listen to and understand spoken language, read and understand written language and write text.
Each externally assessed standard is assessed formatively through tests and school examinations.
Japanese is studied for four hours per week.

24 June Deliver a prepared talk in Japanese 90103 3 credits
22 August Converse in simple Japanese 90104 3 credits
15, 17, 18 October Write crafted text in simple Japanese 90107 3 credits
