Scholarship Examination
Scholarship is an academic challenge.
It is a available from the UE subjects.
It is the same course as the Level 3 UE courses.
Students who take Scholarship sit an extra examination at the end of the year.
It does not contribute any credits to NCEA.
The top Scholarship results win government money.
Scholarship passes do influence admission to University courses.
Competing for Entry to University Courses
Courses such as engineering, medicine, law, journalism have more
applications for them than there are places.
Selection for these competitive entry courses is based on NCEA.
Many Universities ask students to present their best 80 credits.
They are looking for students with 80 Level 3 credits that have ‘excellence’ and ‘merit' grades.
