Te Reo Māori 101
Te Reo Māori 101 is a course in which students will be assessed on their oral, writing and comprehension skills.
It consists entirely of Achievement Standards and is a mix of practical and theoretical work. 12 credits are internally assessed and a further 12 credits will assess the students understanding of Te Reo Māori through external exams.
The internal assessments will require students to produce an extended piece of creative writing, deliver and oral presentation.
Each internally assessed standard is assessed at its completion.
The external assessments will require students to respond to questions on short texts, visual texts, and produce pieces of formal and informal writing.
Each externally assessed standard is assessed formatively through tests and school examinations.
Te Reo Māori is studied for four hours per week.
