Trades and Apprenticeships

There are a lot of apprenticeships around these days.

All involve qualifications, usually specialist national certificates.

NCEA is part of the preparation for an apprenticeship.

Some Standards are directly linked to some apprenticeships so that students can begin to pass the Standards they need for a trade while at school.

The Gateway programme (click here) is a way of experiencing a trade that a student might be interested in while at the same time getting Standards that contribute to the trade qualification.
