Keeping on Top of Your Child’s Progress
 
Things you can do to keep on top of your child’s progress in the NCEA.
  
Get a copy of the Senior Course Handbook.
Your child has been given this. 
Additional copies are available from College.
 
Get a copy of the Course Information Sheet.
Your child has been given an information sheet for each course they are studying.
They are on the College website (Course Information)
 
Ask about tests, exams and assessment timetables and deadlines regularly.
They are listed on the College website (Calendar)
School exam timetables are in the weekly newsletter.
 
School reports indicate progress
A ‘settling in’ report is issued in March
Progress reports are issued at the end of Term 3 and after the September exams.
 
Attend Parent - Teacher nights
These are held twice a year.
The dates are published in the weekly newsletter.
They are an ideal time to get a full idea of the progress being made in each course.
 
Phone the school
If you want to know where your child is up to phone the school and speak to the Dean or one of the Deputy Principals.
 
Meet with Teachers
Meetings can be arranged with individual teachers if you have concerns about particular subjects.
