
College Courses
Year 9
Year 10
Students must study the core subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Phys Ed and Health.
Students study 12 block courses for 6 to 7 weeks each. The courses include:
Art (2), Maori Studies, Drama, Technology (4), Music (2), Text and Information Management and Home Economics
Students may choose to study a Language. We offer Maori and Japanese. Students who study a Language only study 6 block courses.
Students must study the core subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Phys Ed and Health.
Students choose four options to study for half a year each. Subjects include:
Art, Music, Drama, Text and Information Management, Food and Nutrition, Workshop, Graphics, Environment Studies, Horticulture.
Year 11
There are three compulsory courses. Students must study an English course and a Mathematics course and one course from Science, Biology or Horticulture.
Students must select three other subjects from: Te Reo Maori, Japanese, Computer Studies, Economics, Accounting, Text and Information Management, History, Geography, Art, Performance Music, Workshop, Home Economics, Graphics, Drama and Phys Ed.
Year 12
Students must study an English course. In addition students choose five other subjects from: Media Studies, Te Reo Maori, Japanese, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Horticulture, Forestry, Economics, Accounting, Text and Information Management, History, Geography, Tourism, Food and Hospitality, Computer Studies, Mathematics, Design Technology, Graphics, Art, Drama, Phys Ed.
Year 13
Students select five subjects from: English, History, Geography, Calculus, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Accounting, Painting, Photography, Design, Graphics, Design Technology, Phys Ed, Te Reo Maori, Japanese
Multi Level Studies
Students may study choose courses from different years if this is appropriate for them.
Students in Year 12 may study any combination of Year 11 and 12 courses.
Students in Year 13 may study any combination of Year 11, 12 and 13 courses.
Students may, in special circumstances, do courses in advance of their Year.
